There’s never a dull moment in business. Whether you’re working on new projects or nurturing long-term goals, every week is more exciting than the last. Our content agency has blossomed over 2015, so with July whizzing past at the speed of our typing, we thought we’d take a time out to reflect.

Without further ado, let us walk you through what’s been happening here at Making You Content, and in the wider world of copywriting.

Copywriting Training

In June, we attended the Greater Manchester Business Exhibition, where we met some inspiring businesses, startups and individuals. On the day, we were approached by a marketing agency in need of copywriting training for one of their employees.

One month on, and we’ve already seen great progress with our new protégé, giving her the support, expertise and advice she needs to excel. It’s a new avenue for us, but one that we will be looking to explore further in the future.

DMA Copywriting

Back in 2014, we were asked to fill in a survey by the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) – the first ever copywriting census assessing the current state of the industry. After receiving hundreds of responses, the DMA published their findings, and revealed the results at a networking event in Manchester last week.

At first, the findings were a little sobering to say the least; it seems that very few copywriters are happy with the content they are producing, some fear losing their jobs, and many feel undervalued by clients.

However, the ensuing debate revealed that beyond these feelings there is a great degree of optimism in the sector. As businesses begin to wake up to the importance of quality content, copywriters have a unique opportunity to take the initiative and work closely with their clients, to help their businesses grow.
